June 7^th/8^th (Sun/Mon): Leave for Japan; Arrive Monday, June 8^th (3:10 pm). Change money; set JR Pass activation to June 12^th Introduction to Friends’ Center and sleeping arrangements (*buy breakfast).

June 9^th (Tues): Introduction to neighborhood and to Tokyo; subway/train system; grocery shopping; Senkakuji Temple; dinner at small shops near station. Evening Reflection Group (7 – 8:30pm).

June 10^th (Wed): Juntendo University, Urayasu, Chiba, Nursing School, Lunch with Nursing School students, Jyuntendo/IU Nursing School presentations (10:30 – 3:00pm)

June 11^th (Thurs): Juntendo University, Urayasu, Chiba, Medical School, Juntendo hospital; ending mid afternoon, Evening : Chikako Ishii and Ruth Campbell: mental health treatment

June 12^th (Fri):  early morning free – Tokorozawa, Saitama, Moriane Jyosan-in, meet Mayumi Taguchi-sensei (midwife), Kiyoko Ishii’s friend will join; KK translate)(2 – 4 pm), Evening Reflection Group (7 – 8:30pm) (*start JR Pass).

June 13^th (Sat): Free day: visit, tour parts of Tokyo.

June 14^th (Sun): Travel by Shinkansen to Kyoto; Introduction to accommodations at Shunkoin Temple; visit Kinkakuji Temple/Golden Pavilion. Tour Kyoto; Geisha District

June 15^th (Mon): *Zen meditation and Japanese tea ceremony at Shunkoin Temple (morning); tour of Kyoto (Heian Shrine in the afternoon; Japanese crafts store (afternoon)(*bring white socks)

June 16^th (Tue): Travel to Hiroshima early morning; visit Peace Memorial Park, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Atomic Bomb Survivor Testimonial at International Conference Center (ICC), Lunch at B2 Floor of ICC, Tour of the Hiroshima National Peach Memorial Hall, Recitation of A-bomb poems and memoirs at ICC (hosted by Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation); return to Kyoto late-afternoon.

June 17^th (Wed): Return to Tokyo; Evening Reflection Group (7 – 8:30pm).

June 18^th (Thurs): WASEDA ROBOTICS LAB, presentation about IU medical robotics (2 – 5pm, take info JR pass last day)

June 19^th (Fri): AM: Finishing up project/paper, PM: Guest Speaker Ms. Chie Sawa, counseling and social work

June 20^th (Sat): Finishing up project/paper, Final lunch/dinner celebration

June 21^st (Sun): Leave for Narita International Airport, Return to the U.S. (4:30 pm)

June 24^th (Wed):        Final paper due.
